Chapter 31 of 36 · ~1 min

The AI-Native Organisation

What changes when AI is not an add-on but a fundamental component of how the organisation operates? Processes are designed with model steps in mind from the start. Teams include people whose job is to supervise and improve agentic systems. Software is built to be used by both people and models. Knowledge is kept in forms that models can retrieve. Decisions are made on the assumption that analysis is cheap and always available.

No one has fully built this organisation yet, and the sketches on offer differ. The useful exercise is to describe what yours would look like, in terms of processes, teams, software, knowledge, and decision-making, and then to notice which pieces you could start on now.

Exercise

Do it yourself

Describe your organisation as AI-native in one page. List the three smallest steps that move toward it.

Big question

What would you stop doing if analysis were free?
